In this tutorial we learn how to install socket_wrapper
on CentOS 8.
What is socket_wrapper
socket_wrapper aims to help client/server software development teams willing to gain full functional test coverage. It makes it possible to run several instances of the full software stack on the same machine and perform locally functional testing of complex network configurations. We can use yum
or dnf
to install socket_wrapper
on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install socket_wrapper.
Install socket_wrapper on CentOS 8 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf
using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
The output should look something like this:

After updating yum database, We can install socket_wrapper
using dnf
by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install socket_wrapper
Install socket_wrapper on CentOS 8 Using yum
Update yum database with yum
using the following command.
sudo yum makecache --refresh

using yum

How To Uninstall socket_wrapper on CentOS 8
To uninstall only the socket_wrapper
package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove socket_wrapper
