In this tutorial we learn how to install spfquery on Kali Linux.
What is spfquery
spfquery is:
The Sender Policy Framework (SPF) is one part of the SPF/SRS protocol
pair. SPF allows email systems such as Sendmail, Postfix, Exim,
Zmailer and MS Exchange to check SPF records and make sure that the
email is authorized by the domain name that it is coming from. This
prevents email forgery, commonly used by spammers, scammers and email
viruses/worms.
This package contains simple utilities that use libspf2 to test and
query SPF records.
There are three methods to install spfquery on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install spfquery Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install spfquery using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install spfquery
Install spfquery Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install spfquery using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install spfquery
Install spfquery Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install spfquery using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install spfquery
How To Uninstall spfquery on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the spfquery package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove spfquery
Uninstall spfquery And Its Dependencies
To uninstall spfquery and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove spfquery
Remove spfquery Configurations and Data
To remove spfquery configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge spfquery
Remove spfquery configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove spfquery configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge spfquery
