Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install ssvnc on Kali Linux.
What is ssvnc
ssvnc is:
VNC stands for Virtual Network Computing. It is, in essence, a remote
display system which allows you to view a computing `desktop’
environment not only on the machine where it is running, but from
anywhere on the Internet and from a wide variety of machine
architectures.
SSVNC is two things:

An enhanced version of the TightVNC client with support for more
encodings and color modes, support for x11vnc and UltraVNC
extensions, dynamic screen resizing, an improved popup menu, etc. -
A GUI that helps set up an SSL (using stunnel) or SSH tunnel to
connect to the VNC server through, as well as forwarding of ports for
audio (esound/aRts), SMB, CUPS etc.
There are three methods to install ssvnc on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install ssvnc Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install ssvnc using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install ssvncInstall ssvnc Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install ssvnc using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install ssvncInstall ssvnc Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install ssvnc using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install ssvnc
How To Uninstall ssvnc on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the ssvnc package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove ssvnc
Uninstall ssvnc And Its Dependencies
To uninstall ssvnc and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove ssvnc
Remove ssvnc Configurations and Data
To remove ssvnc configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge ssvnc
Remove ssvnc configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove ssvnc configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge ssvnc
