Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install stm32flash on Kali Linux.
What is stm32flash
stm32flash is:
stm32flash is a flashing program for the STM32 ARM processors using the ST
serial bootloader compliant with application note AN3155.

- auto-detect Intel hex or raw binary input format with option to force binary

- save flash to binary file
- verify and retry up to N times on failed writes

There are three methods to install stm32flash on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install stm32flash Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install stm32flash using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install stm32flashInstall stm32flash Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install stm32flash using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install stm32flashInstall stm32flash Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install stm32flash using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install stm32flash
How To Uninstall stm32flash on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the stm32flash package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove stm32flash
Uninstall stm32flash And Its Dependencies
To uninstall stm32flash and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove stm32flash
Remove stm32flash Configurations and Data
To remove stm32flash configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge stm32flash
Remove stm32flash configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove stm32flash configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge stm32flash
