What is swi-prolog-core
swi-prolog-core is:
SWI-Prolog is a fast and powerful ISO/Edinburgh-style Prolog compiler with a
rich set of built-in predicates. It offers a fast, robust and small
environment which enables substantial applications to be developed with it.
SWI-Prolog additionally offers:
- A powerful module system
- Garbage collection
- Unicode character set handling
- Unbounted integer and rational number arithmetic
- Multithreading support
- A powerful C/C++ interface
- GNU Readline interface
This package contains a working SWI-Prolog core system.
There are three methods to install swi-prolog-core on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install swi-prolog-core Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install swi-prolog-core using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install swi-prolog-coreInstall swi-prolog-core Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install swi-prolog-core using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install swi-prolog-coreInstall swi-prolog-core Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install swi-prolog-core using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install swi-prolog-core
How To Uninstall swi-prolog-core on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the swi-prolog-core package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove swi-prolog-core
Uninstall swi-prolog-core And Its Dependencies
To uninstall swi-prolog-core and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove swi-prolog-core
Remove swi-prolog-core Configurations and Data
To remove swi-prolog-core configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge swi-prolog-core
Remove swi-prolog-core configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove swi-prolog-core configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge swi-prolog-core
