What is syncthing-discosrv
syncthing-discosrv is:
Syncthing is an application that lets you synchronize your files across
multiple devices. This means the creation, modification or deletion of files
on one machine will automatically be replicated to your other devices.
Syncthing does not upload your data to the cloud but exchanges your data
across your machines as soon as they are online at the same time.
Syncthing relies on a discovery server to find peers on the internet. Anyone
can run a discovery server and point its syncthing installations to it.
This package contains the discovery server binary: stdiscosrv.
There are three methods to install syncthing-discosrv on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install syncthing-discosrv Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install syncthing-discosrv using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install syncthing-discosrvInstall syncthing-discosrv Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install syncthing-discosrv using apt by running the following command:

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install syncthing-discosrv using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install syncthing-discosrv
How To Uninstall syncthing-discosrv on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the syncthing-discosrv package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove syncthing-discosrv
Uninstall syncthing-discosrv And Its Dependencies
To uninstall syncthing-discosrv and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove syncthing-discosrv
Remove syncthing-discosrv Configurations and Data
To remove syncthing-discosrv configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge syncthing-discosrv
Remove syncthing-discosrv configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove syncthing-discosrv configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge syncthing-discosrv
