Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install tagua on Kali Linux.
What is tagua
tagua is:
Tagua is a frontend for a variety of board games. Currently
supported games include chess, shogi and a couple of variants of
those games.
Tagua is based on a powerful plugin system that allows many games to
share the same graphical framework, game history handling,
interoperability with AI engines and connectivity to network servers.
It currently has support for xboard-compatible chess engines, and
xshogi-compatible shogi engines, as well as network play on chess ICS
servers.
There are three methods to install tagua on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install tagua Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install tagua using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install taguaInstall tagua Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install tagua using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install taguaInstall tagua Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install tagua using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install tagua
How To Uninstall tagua on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the tagua package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove tagua
Uninstall tagua And Its Dependencies
To uninstall tagua and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove tagua
Remove tagua Configurations and Data
To remove tagua configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge tagua
Remove tagua configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove tagua configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge tagua
