The targetcli-fb package is a command-line interface for configuring
the LIO generic SCSI target, present in 3.x Linux kernel versions.
The targetcli-fb package is a fork of the “targetcli” code written by
RisingTide Systems. The “-fb” differentiates between the original and
this version. Please ensure to use either all “fb” versions of the
targetcli components – targetcli, rtslib, and configshell, or stick
with all non-fb versions, since they are no longer strictly
compatible.
There are three methods to install targetcli-fb on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install targetcli-fb Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install targetcli-fb using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install targetcli-fbInstall targetcli-fb Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install targetcli-fb using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install targetcli-fbInstall targetcli-fb Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install targetcli-fb using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install targetcli-fb
How To Uninstall targetcli-fb on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the targetcli-fb package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove targetcli-fb
Uninstall targetcli-fb And Its Dependencies
To uninstall targetcli-fb and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove targetcli-fb
Remove targetcli-fb Configurations and Data
To remove targetcli-fb configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge targetcli-fb
