Introduction

on Ubuntu 20.04.
What is abiword
abiword is:
AbiWord is a full-featured, efficient word processing application.
It is suitable for a wide variety of word processing tasks, and
is extensible with a variety of plugins.
This package includes many of the available import/export plugins allowing
AbiWord to interact with ODT, WordPerfect, and other formats. It also
includes tools plugins, offering live collaboration with AbiWord users
on Linux and Windows (using TCP or Jabber/XMPP), web translation and
dictionary support, and more.
There are three methods to install abiword
on Ubuntu 20.04. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install abiword Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install abiword
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install abiword
Install abiword Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install abiword
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install abiword
Install abiword Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install abiword
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install abiword
How To Uninstall abiword on Ubuntu 20.04
To uninstall only the abiword
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove abiword
Uninstall abiword And Its Dependencies
To uninstall abiword
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 20.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove abiword
Remove abiword Configurations and Data
To remove abiword
configuration and data from Ubuntu 20.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge abiword
Remove abiword configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove abiword
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge abiword
