Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install aodh-evaluator on Ubuntu 20.04.
What is aodh-evaluator
aodh-evaluator is:
Ceilometer aims to deliver a Single Point Of Contact for billing systems,
providing all the counters they need to establish customer billing, across
all current and future OpenStack components. The delivery of counters must be
traceable and auditable, the counters must be easily extensible to support new
projects, and agents doing data collections should be independent of the
overall system.
(A ceilometer is an instrument that measures cloud coverage.)

There are three methods to install aodh-evaluator on Ubuntu 20.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install aodh-evaluator Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install aodh-evaluator using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install aodh-evaluator
Install aodh-evaluator Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install aodh-evaluator using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install aodh-evaluator
Install aodh-evaluator Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install aodh-evaluator using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install aodh-evaluator
How To Uninstall aodh-evaluator on Ubuntu 20.04
To uninstall only the aodh-evaluator package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove aodh-evaluator
Uninstall aodh-evaluator And Its Dependencies
To uninstall aodh-evaluator and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 20.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove aodh-evaluator
Remove aodh-evaluator Configurations and Data
To remove aodh-evaluator configuration and data from Ubuntu 20.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge aodh-evaluator
Remove aodh-evaluator configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove aodh-evaluator configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge aodh-evaluator
