Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install aroarfw-dev on Ubuntu 20.04.
What is aroarfw-dev
aroarfw-dev is:
This is a framework used to build hardware with support for the RoarAudio
protocol.
This package contains C header files with most important
magic numbers, data types and macros to work on RoarAudio messages.
This is not a complete library to access a server. If you search
for a library which handles all the stuff for you on
UNIX and UNIX like Operating Systems like Debian you better
have a look at libroar and libmuroar.
There are three methods to install aroarfw-dev on Ubuntu 20.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install aroarfw-dev Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install aroarfw-dev using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install aroarfw-dev
Install aroarfw-dev Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install aroarfw-dev using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install aroarfw-dev
Install aroarfw-dev Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install aroarfw-dev using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install aroarfw-dev
How To Uninstall aroarfw-dev on Ubuntu 20.04
To uninstall only the aroarfw-dev package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove aroarfw-dev
Uninstall aroarfw-dev And Its Dependencies
To uninstall aroarfw-dev and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 20.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove aroarfw-dev
Remove aroarfw-dev Configurations and Data
To remove aroarfw-dev configuration and data from Ubuntu 20.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge aroarfw-dev
Remove aroarfw-dev configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove aroarfw-dev configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge aroarfw-dev
