What is gmt-dcw
gmt-dcw is:
DCW-GMT is an enhancement to the original 1:1,000,000 scale vector basemap
of the world available from the Princeton University Digital Map and
Geospatial Information Center and from GeoCommunity at
http://data.geocomm.com/readme/dcw/dcw.html.
This data is for use by GMT, the Generic Mapping Tools.
There are three methods to install gmt-dcw

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install gmt-dcw
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install gmt-dcw
How To Uninstall gmt-dcw on Ubuntu 20.04
To uninstall only the gmt-dcw
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove gmt-dcw
Uninstall gmt-dcw And Its Dependencies
To uninstall gmt-dcw
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 20.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove gmt-dcw
Remove gmt-dcw Configurations and Data
To remove gmt-dcw
configuration and data from Ubuntu 20.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge gmt-dcw
