Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install libdbix-dbschema-perl on Ubuntu 20.04.
What is libdbix-dbschema-perl
libdbix-dbschema-perl is:
DBIx::DBSchema objects are collections of DBIx::DBSchema::Table objects and
represent a database schema.
This module implements an OO-interface to database schemas. Using this
module, you can create a database schema with an OO Perl interface. You can
read the schema from an existing database. You can save the schema to disk
and restore it from a different process. Most importantly, DBIx::DBSchema
can write SQL CREATE statements for different databases from a single source.
Currently supported databases are MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, Sybase and SQLite.
DBIx::DBSchema will attempt to use generic SQL syntax for other databases.
Assistance adding support for other databases is welcomed. See the
DBIx::DBSchema::DBD manpage, “Driver Writer’s Guide and Base Class”.
There are three methods to install libdbix-dbschema-perl on Ubuntu 20.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libdbix-dbschema-perl Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install libdbix-dbschema-perl using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libdbix-dbschema-perl
Install libdbix-dbschema-perl Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install libdbix-dbschema-perl using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install libdbix-dbschema-perl
Install libdbix-dbschema-perl Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install libdbix-dbschema-perl using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libdbix-dbschema-perl
How To Uninstall libdbix-dbschema-perl on Ubuntu 20.04
To uninstall only the libdbix-dbschema-perl package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libdbix-dbschema-perl
Uninstall libdbix-dbschema-perl And Its Dependencies
To uninstall libdbix-dbschema-perl and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 20.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libdbix-dbschema-perl
Remove libdbix-dbschema-perl Configurations and Data
To remove libdbix-dbschema-perl configuration and data from Ubuntu 20.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libdbix-dbschema-perl
Remove libdbix-dbschema-perl configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove libdbix-dbschema-perl configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge libdbix-dbschema-perl
