What is libdisasm-dev
libdisasm-dev is:
Libdisasm is a disassembler for Intel x86-compatible object code. It compiles
as a shared and static library on Linux, FreeBSD, and Win32 platforms. The
core disassembly engine is contained in files with the prefix “i386”, and is
shared with the x86 ARCH extension of the bastard disassembler.
This package contains the development files.
There are three methods to install libdisasm-dev on Ubuntu 20.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libdisasm-dev Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install libdisasm-dev using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libdisasm-dev

Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install libdisasm-dev using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install libdisasm-dev
Install libdisasm-dev Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install libdisasm-dev using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libdisasm-dev
How To Uninstall libdisasm-dev on Ubuntu 20.04
To uninstall only the libdisasm-dev package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libdisasm-dev
Uninstall libdisasm-dev And Its Dependencies
To uninstall libdisasm-dev and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 20.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libdisasm-dev
Remove libdisasm-dev Configurations and Data
To remove libdisasm-dev configuration and data from Ubuntu 20.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libdisasm-dev
Remove libdisasm-dev configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove libdisasm-dev configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge libdisasm-dev
