What is libxmltooling-dev
libxmltooling-dev is:
The XMLTooling library contains generic XML parsing and processing
classes based on the Xerces-C DOM. It adds more powerful facilities
for declaring element- and type-specific API and implementation
classes to add value around the DOM, as well as signing and encryption
support.
This package contains the headers and other necessary files to build
applications or libraries that use or extend the XMLTooling library.
There are three methods to install libxmltooling-dev on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libxmltooling-dev Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install libxmltooling-dev using apt-get by running the following command:

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install libxmltooling-dev using aptitude by running the following command:
