What is libzbar0
libzbar0 is:
ZBar is a library for scanning and decoding bar codes from various sources
such as video streams, image files or raw intensity sensors. It supports
EAN-13/UPC-A, UPC-E, EAN-8, Code 128, Code 39, Interleaved 2 of 5 and QR Code.
This package contains the library.
There are three methods to install libzbar0
on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get

and aptitude

Install libzbar0 Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install libzbar0
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libzbar0
Install libzbar0 Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install libzbar0
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install libzbar0
Install libzbar0 Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install libzbar0
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libzbar0
How To Uninstall libzbar0 on Ubuntu 18.04
To uninstall only the libzbar0
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libzbar0
Uninstall libzbar0 And Its Dependencies
To uninstall libzbar0
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libzbar0
Remove libzbar0 Configurations and Data
To remove libzbar0
configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libzbar0
Remove libzbar0 configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove libzbar0
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge libzbar0
