What is libzip4
libzip4 is:
libzip is a C library for reading, creating, and modifying zip archives. Files
can be added from data buffers, files, or compressed data copied directly from
other zip archives. Changes made without closing the archive can be reverted.
This package contains the files necessary for running applications that
use the libzip library.
There are three methods to install libzip4
on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libzip4 Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install libzip4
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libzip4
Install libzip4 Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install libzip4
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install libzip4
Install libzip4 Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install libzip4
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libzip4
How To Uninstall libzip4 on Ubuntu 18.04
To uninstall only the libzip4
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libzip4
Uninstall libzip4 And Its Dependencies
To uninstall libzip4
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libzip4
Remove libzip4 Configurations and Data
To remove libzip4
configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libzip4
Remove libzip4 configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove libzip4
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge libzip4
